In the 28th minute, Rene Aires made a precise shot to the right of David Seaman. Jenipapo SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aníbal Alagoano in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Walmir Catarinense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Walmir Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinicio Junior in the 37th minute of play. After 38 minutes Loco De Remate's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Arsenio Gipuzkoa who took care of the corner kick. Vinicio Junior's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walmir Catarinense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play.
