The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. FALCÕES VERDES's Clóvis Marinho couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 6th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Palermo. FALCÕES VERDES's Isaltino Castro got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Baltazar Tepedinos short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Marcial Dantae to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When FALCÕES VERDES's Isaltino Castro in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palermo's goalie prevented a goal. Marcial Dantae showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thiago de Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the match, Isaltino Castro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcial Dantae, 1-0. Valentin Enekoitz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dalmo Sergipano having to make a save. When Palermo's Baldomiro Gamus in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FALCÕES VERDES's goalie prevented a goal. After 22 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Domingues. In the 26th minute, Thiago de Queiroz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Isaltino Castro's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 30thth minute, Marcial Dantae skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Thiago de Queiroz struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Marcial Dantae didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FALCÕES VERDES. The supporters of Palermo booed when FALCÕES VERDES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clóvis Marinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benjamin Falcão was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 38th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 41 played minutes FALCÕES VERDES got a freekick which was hit by Baltazar Tepedino. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Isaltino Castro was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Mariano Urtungo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the match, Isaltino Castro notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Palermo's Marcial Dantae. Marcial Dantae was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marcial Dantae came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by FALCÕES VERDES's Isaltino Castro. But to his dismay, Isaltino Castro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Palermo's Evelio Guipuzkoa got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69th minute Baltazar Tepedino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Dantae saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Palermo defense, Baltazar Tepedino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcial Dantae. The Palermo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcial Dantae should have stopped the shot. In the 74th match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Ermano to maneuver through the defense. Marcial Dantae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaltino Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Isaltino Castro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcial Dantae was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaltino Castro in the 92nd minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Marcial Dantae to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FALCÕES VERDES had played much better football throughout.
