Thanks to some nice moves Armando Rosalio could shoot a difficult shot in the 27th minute, which Marcial Dantae however easily saved by the left post. Marcial Dantae made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Armando Rosalio sent off a good shot on target. Armando Rosalio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcial Dantae having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Ramon Shantala came free, but Marcial Dantae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcial Dantae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramon Shantala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Evelio Guipuzkoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Armando Rosalio made a kick off. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Anibal Fernendo hit a great ball. In the 54th minute, Albino Asteri got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Armando Rosalio took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcial Dantae. Marcial Dantae dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. 61 minutes into the match, Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Ramon Shantala came free, but Marcial Dantae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Anselmo Domingues hit a great ball. Elvio Illart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Baldomiro Gamus's late challenge caught a Mercado Paulista F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Baldomiro Gamus helped the player get up and apologised. In the 64th minute, Baldomiro Gamus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcial Dantae made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Shantala in the 71st minute of play. In the 72nd minute of the match Mercado Paulista F.C got a corner. Palermo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fabricio Tohias ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Fabricio Tohias almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Palermo's Marcial Dantae did a great save. Palermo's Marcial Dantae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Rosalio in the 74th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alvaro Ermano during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game.
