Isaltino Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Anselmo Domingues hit a great ball. In the 8th minute Isaltino Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Dantae saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FALCÕES VERDES's Dalmo Sergipano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anibal Fernendo in the 11th minute of play. The supporters of FALCÕES VERDES booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Kelemen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Palermo's Marcial Dantae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Tepedino in the 14th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Baltazar Tepedino came free, but Marcial Dantae reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Luiz Gustavo Proença hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Mariano Urtungo hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, Júlio Fonseca notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Palermo's Marcial Dantae. Marcial Dantae was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 38 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Anibal Fernendo. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Eulalio Lano hit a great ball. In the 41st minute, Clóvis Marinho sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Palermo's Marcial Dantae didn't even have to move. Marcial Dantae stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Isaltino Castro's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes into the game, Eulalio Lano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palermo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FALCÕES VERDES the free kick. In the 44th match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eulalio Lano to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Valentin Enekoitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcial Dantae took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isaltino Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half FALCÕES VERDES were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Isaltino Castro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Donato Kelemen hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. When Clóvis Marinho came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the FALCÕES VERDES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Clóvis Marinho couldn't finish the play. In the 54th minute Anibal Fernendo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalmo Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Palermo's Marcial Dantae played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isaltino Castro in the 56th minute of play. Marcial Dantae made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Isaltino Castro sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Palermo's Donato Kelemen got a free kick in the 61st minute. Baltazar Tepedino in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marcial Dantae, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Palermo's Anibal Fernendo got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 78thth minute of the game Isaltino Castro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palermo's Marcial Dantae was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Isaltino Castro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcial Dantae read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isaltino Castro in the 87th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Marcial Dantae to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anibal Fernendo to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Baltazar Tepedino took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Marcial Dantae to make any attempt to save it. The FALCÕES VERDES supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FALCÕES VERDES would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
