The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Bernardo lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thom Threepwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thom Threepwood made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Leukothoe Atsidakos sent off a good shot on target. Thom Threepwood made an important save on a dangerous shot by Witalis Konopka in the 7th minute. Thom Threepwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerónimo Furtado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 11 minutes, Cayo Mario managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Radiohead Freaks Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cayo Mario was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Radiohead Freaks Club booed when União Sport Clube Paredes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo lago didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cayo Mario, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. União Sport Clube Paredes's Edwin van der Sar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cayo Mario in the 20th minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Radiohead Freaks Club's Beti Roman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edwin van der Sar narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Leukothoe Atsidakos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thom Threepwood was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. 34 minutes into the match, Cayo Mario had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edwin van der Sar. União Sport Clube Paredes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cayo Mario was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in União Sport Clube Paredes's zone, Beti Roman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edwin van der Sar came out of the goal and Beti Roman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cayo Mario might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin van der Sar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cayo Mario ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jerónimo Furtado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 54th minute of play forced Radiohead Freaks Club's goalkeeper Thom Threepwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo lago in the 63rd minute of play forced Radiohead Freaks Club's goalkeeper Thom Threepwood to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 66 minutes of play, Radiohead Freaks Club's Cayo Mario made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edwin van der Sar was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 72nd minute, Radiohead Freaks Club's Cayo Mario dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. Thom Threepwood took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaspar Ibon made in the 76th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Radiohead Freaks Club's Oscar-Alfredo Ruggieri. Edwin van der Sar didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cayo Mario went, in the 77th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-6 was the resulting score. 81 minutes into the match, União Sport Clube Paredes's goal looked a bit too open when Cayo Mario came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind União Sport Clube Paredes's goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Radiohead Freaks Club's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Noe Seedorf in the 84th minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Noe Seedorf managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Radiohead Freaks Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Noe Seedorf was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayo Mario in the 88th minute of play. Thom Threepwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Gaxan in the 91st minute of the match. After some careless play in the União Sport Clube Paredes defense, Cayo Mario kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edwin van der Sar. The União Sport Clube Paredes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwin van der Sar should have stopped the shot. Radiohead Freaks Club's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
