A nice corner shot did that Servando Ariztimuño got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Emil Cvitanović quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Croatia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nikola Haramina didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 96 played minutes, Uruguay's Servando Ariztimuño shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emil Cvitanović came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Uruguay reached it. Uruguay's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
