The supporters of Diamante Negro DK - VV booed when Lemel SV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Pierre Papin didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 played minutes Diamante Negro DK - VV got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Luiz de Sousa. In the 27th match minute, Diamante Negro DK - VV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dário Teles to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jean-Pierre Papin in the 29th minute of play forced Diamante Negro DK - VV's goalkeeper Caco Mattos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ton Janus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Lemel SV booed when Diamante Negro DK - VV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davi Luis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 41 minutes into the game, Gabriele Batistuta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Caco Mattos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Jack de Zwaan's late challenge caught a Diamante Negro DK - VV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jack de Zwaan helped the player get up and apologised. After 52 played minutes Lemel SV got a freekick which was hit by Jack de Zwaan. After a defensive mix-up in Diamante Negro DK - VV's zone, Jean-Pierre Papin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caco Mattos came out of the goal and Jean-Pierre Papin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caco Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriele Batistuta, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Ton Janus came free with the goalkeeper in the 67th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Caco Mattos could save by the left post. After 69 minutes, Alexandre Tepedino mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Diamante Negro DK - VV and the Lemel SV players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Diamante Negro DK - VV getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Alexandre Tepedino hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Diamante Negro DK - VV's zone, Jean-Pierre Papin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Caco Mattos came out of the goal and Jean-Pierre Papin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nuno Viana didn't get a good kick on the ball. 86 minutes into the game, Pieter den Hartog recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Caco Mattos. Pieter den Hartog showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. Lemel SV played a much better game than Diamante Negro DK - VV and deserved their victory. The Diamante Negro DK - VV players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
