ASC South United's Taco Scholte got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwin Aukes in the 19th minute of play forced ASC South United's goalkeeper Kristian Holst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edwin Aukes in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kristian Holst saved ASC South United from getting behind. Cees Hermensen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Olivier Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd match minute, ASC South United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frits de Boer to maneuver through the defense. After 47 played minutes Edwin Aukes could catch the ball where he stood relatively free a bit outside the goal and without hesitation he completed 4-1 into the left cross.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edwin Aukes was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edwin Aukes in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kristian Holst prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cees Hermensen hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match.
