Sérgio Passos came out of the goal and Sílvio Luiz de Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sérgio Passos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edinho Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 7 minutes into the match, GD JULIO DINIS's goal looked a bit too open when Edinho Pitta came free, but Sérgio Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sérgio Passos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Renatinho Freitas went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Tomé Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geraldo Lopes in the 13th minute of play. With 13 minutes on the clock, Olavo Hermes commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The supporters of GD JULIO DINIS booed when Diamante Negro DK - VV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olavo Hermes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sérgio Passos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edinho Pitta, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute Diamante Negro DK - VV were awarded a corner. Renatinho Freitas went to the cornerflag to take it. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Renatinho Freitas was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sérgio Passos in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Renatinho Freitas succeeded in the game's 28th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. In the 34th minute, Edinho Pitta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 43 minutes, Renatinho Freitas made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. GD JULIO DINIS's Sérgio Passos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norberto Santana couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute Renatinho Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Diamante Negro DK - VV's Edinho Pitta got a free kick in the 64th minute. A nice corner shot did that Renatinho Freitas got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sérgio Passos quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 80 minutes of play, Diamante Negro DK - VV's Renatinho Freitas made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sérgio Passos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tomé Prestes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Tomé Prestes made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Geraldo Lopes sent off a good shot on target. For all the effort they put into the match, the GD JULIO DINIS players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Diamante Negro DK - VV.
