The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Geraldo Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. In the 15th minute Renatinho Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Norberto Santana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 23 played minutes GD JULIO DINIS got a freekick which was hit by Pascoal Braga. GD JULIO DINIS's Sérgio Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilvan Silva in the 25th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilvan Silva in the 26th minute of play forced GD JULIO DINIS's goalkeeper Sérgio Passos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sérgio Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júnior da Silva in the 30th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Diamante Negro DK - VV's Júnior da Silva got a free kick in the 34th minute. A collision led to Diamante Negro DK - VV getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Júnior da Silva hit a great ball. Tomé Prestes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeferino Castilho in the 40th minute. Pascoal Braga's late challenge caught a Diamante Negro DK - VV's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pascoal Braga helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Diamante Negro DK - VV booed when GD JULIO DINIS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascoal Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sérgio Passos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renatinho Freitas in the 42nd minute of play. A collision led to GD JULIO DINIS getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Afonso Eanes hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the game, Gilvan Silva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Sérgio Passos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Diamante Negro DK - VV's Geovani Leal was substituted for Edinho Pitta. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geraldo Lopes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sérgio Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamílton Cardozo in the 54th minute of the match. Hamílton Cardozo came free with the goalkeeper in the 61st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Sérgio Passos could save by the left post. Hamílton Cardozo's late challenge caught a GD JULIO DINIS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hamílton Cardozo helped the player get up and apologised. Hamílton Cardozo kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Renatinho Freitas took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sérgio Passos. Sérgio Passos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 68 minutes into the match, GD JULIO DINIS's goal looked a bit too open when Renatinho Freitas came free, but Sérgio Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Gustavo Gentil had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomé Prestes. Diamante Negro DK - VV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gustavo Gentil was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Tomé Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto Santana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Pascoal Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd match minute, GD JULIO DINIS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorato Casado to maneuver through the defense. 86 minutes into the game, Hamílton Cardozo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sérgio Passos. Hamílton Cardozo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-4. 93 minutes into the match, GD JULIO DINIS's goal looked a bit too open when Renatinho Freitas came free, but Sérgio Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. GD JULIO DINIS's Sérgio Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovani Leal in the 97th minute of play. The Diamante Negro DK - VV players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
