The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to C.A.M.P getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Victoriano Playo hit a great ball. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Tomas Avellaneda got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mauricio Osmundo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Salvador Incendio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 6th match minute, C.A.M.P was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teodoro Pereyra to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA defense, Siro Gimenez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Salvador Incendio. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Salvador Incendio should have stopped the shot. Isidoro Txindoki hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute, Siro Gimenez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Salvador Incendio. The goal made the score 3-0. The supporters of ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA booed when C.A.M.P was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Txindoki didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Norberto Cristofor came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norberto Cristofor couldn't finish the play. Alejandro Santxol came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Freddy Primo. But to his dismay, Freddy Primo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. When Norberto Cristofor came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Norberto Cristofor couldn't finish the play. Salvador Incendio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Siro Gimenez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Norberto Cristofor made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rolando Cayo during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rolando Cayo kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. C.A.M.P's Alejandro Santxol proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save C.A.M.P from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's zone, Siro Gimenez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Salvador Incendio came out of the goal and Siro Gimenez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Mauricio Osmundo fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.A.M.P's protests and gave Mauricio Osmundo a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, C.A.M.P's Mauricio Osmundo got a free kick in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Siro Gimenez in the 69th minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Salvador Incendio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Marco Kelemen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C.A.M.P's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA the free kick. In the 70th minute, Marco Kelemen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Palben in the 72nd minute of play forced C.A.M.P's goalkeeper Alejandro Santxol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute Siro Gimenez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salvador Incendio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pablo Meder's late challenge caught a ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee gave Marco Kelemen a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 91 played minutes C.A.M.P got a freekick which was hit by Marco Kelemen. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Pablo Madera got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
