After 6 played minutes Isótopos V.M. got a freekick which was hit by Jonatan Maidana. Ignacio Di Stasi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Francis, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Everardo Cordarell in the 8th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Isótopos V.M.'s goalie and right to Olle Snell. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Isótopos V.M.'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 12 minutes into the match, Isótopos V.M.'s goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Francis came free, but Ignacio Di Stasi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albeiro Usuriaga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Branislav Velchevski made a huge save. Elpidio Francis took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ignacio Di Stasi. Ignacio Di Stasi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Domingues in the 18th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ignacio Di Stasi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ignacio Di Stasi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arnaldo Gabon went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 27th minute, Arnaldo Gabon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Pedro Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Branislav Velchevski having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Branislav Velchevski successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ignacio Di Stasi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaldo Gabon in the 39th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Albeiro Usuriaga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Branislav Velchevski. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Albeiro Usuriaga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The supporters of Isótopos V.M. booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timoteo Basualdo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Crişan Fenomeno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Albeiro Usuriaga to make the kick off. Albeiro Usuriaga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Branislav Velchevski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús was substituted for Elpidio Francis. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Aristides Asteri was substituted for Arnaldo Gabon. Isótopos V.M.'s Crişan Fenomeno was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Branislav Velchevski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Domingues in the 70th minute of play. Zacarias Osorio kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. In the 78th match minute, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zacarias Osorio to maneuver through the defense. In the 79th minute, Rafael Dalmu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Crişan Fenomeno in the 81st minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Isótopos V.M.'s goalkeeper Ignacio Di Stasi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by André Monclús. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristides Asteri in the 89th minute of play forced Isótopos V.M.'s goalkeeper Ignacio Di Stasi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Albeiro Usuriaga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Branislav Velchevski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
