When Oscar Gagriel came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Alpargatas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oscar Gagriel couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Cordeara in the 14th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Cordeara scored 1-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Oscar Gagriel scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 2-1. 20 minutes into the match, Maximino Gipuzkoa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maximino Gipuzkoa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 25 minutes into the game, Aaron Alcocer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Alpargatas FC the free kick. Oscar Gagriel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Oscar Gagriel notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Costa Rica's defense didn't have a chance, in the 36th minute, when Oscar Gagriel scored to the left of an out of position Benito Sanz, making the score, 5-1. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Maximino Gipuzkoa in the 40th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

Romeo Bortzaioriz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 86th minute Romeo Bortzaioriz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute, Oscar Gagriel made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 10-1. Alpargatas FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
