In the 8thth minute of the game Jason Douglas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 9 minutes Futbol Club RRFV's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Marcelo Marcello who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Javier Rodriguez heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pedro Pedro in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Deportivo Rodriguez's goalkeeper Tony Joyce had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuel Souza. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, André Luís Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Futbol Club RRFV's supporters rose to their feet, but André Luís Martins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Joyce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 21st minute, Didi Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diamantino Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Marcello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute, André Luís Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 32nd minute, Leonel Sanches ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tony Joyce was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Tony Joyce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonel Sanches, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Futbol Club RRFV's Diamantino Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Marcello in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcelo Marcello in the 43rd minute of play forced Futbol Club RRFV's goalkeeper Diamantino Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Joyce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fausto Vimaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Deportivo Rodriguez's Tony Joyce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Souza in the 51st minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Deportivo Rodriguez's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Vimaro came free, but Tony Joyce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Deportivo Rodriguez defense, Leonel Sanches kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tony Joyce. The Deportivo Rodriguez fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tony Joyce should have stopped the shot. Deportivo Rodriguez:s Tony Joyce showed great skill when he stopped Marcel Hoffmann:s penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Samuel Souza in the 65th minute of play forced Deportivo Rodriguez's goalkeeper Tony Joyce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute Samuel Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Joyce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Marcello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Diamantino Senna made a huge save. When Pedro Pedro fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Deportivo Rodriguez's protests and gave Pedro Pedro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd match minute, Deportivo Rodriguez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Pedro to maneuver through the defense. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
