Gavril Bosioc was slow to take the kick. During this time C.A.Independiente's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Nereo Frederico almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AIF's Olov Linquist did a great save. In the 24th minute, Nereo Frederico left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A.Independiente fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Olov Linquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Øyvind Rovik in the 26th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, C.A.Independiente's Heigo Luiga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Olov Linquist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mark Forsberg to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Cristo Basajaun got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ciriaco Macias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilhelm Alströmer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olov Linquist stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristo Basajaun's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. After a defensive mix-up in AIF's zone, Heigo Luiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olov Linquist came out of the goal and Heigo Luiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristo Basajaun got free with Olov Linquist in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. AIF's Olov Linquist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save AIF from getting a goal against them. C.A.Independiente made a substitution.
