In the 18th minute Matias Gelmiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, AKÇEŞMESPOR's goal looked a bit too open when Jesus Dimas came free, but Cláudio Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tião Penha took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cláudio Taffarel. In the 44th minute Jesus Dimas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cláudio Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gaueko Nanclares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cláudio Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaueko Nanclares in the 54th minute of play. Herminio Gizon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Friedrich Nietzsche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in AKÇEŞMESPOR's zone, Gaueko Nanclares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Taffarel came out of the goal and Gaueko Nanclares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Herminio Gizon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Friedrich Nietzsche in the 60th minute of the match. Cláudio Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaueko Nanclares in the 61st minute of play. After 63 minutes of play, AKÇEŞMESPOR's Meriç Özsen made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Herminio Gizon was left in no man's land by his defense there! ALIDIM FOR EVER made a substitution. Jairo Selatse replaced Jesus Dimas. With a little luck, AKÇEŞMESPOR's Cláudio Taffarel got control of the ball when Jairo Selatse tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th minute, Tião Penha had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Dündar Ozansu charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dündar Ozansu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 79 played minutes AKÇEŞMESPOR got a freekick which was hit by Dündar Ozansu. When Deivid De Souza came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the AKÇEŞMESPOR fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Deivid De Souza couldn't finish the play.
