In the 16th minute Paulo Pinkhas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Göksel Canfeda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the game, istanbulls's Patric Bierhoff nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Renaldo Segarra made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Alp Enginalp could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Renaldo Segarra made a huge save. In the 36th minute, Mihail Răduleț hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matthias Holmgren hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Ferdi Coşan went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on istanbulls's corner Ferdi Coşan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Renaldo Segarra quite easily take care of the ball. Matthias Holmgren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patric Bierhoff was the one to do the kick off. Patric Bierhoff took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Renaldo Segarra. Renaldo Segarra dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Renaldo Segarra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alp Enginalp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Göksel Canfeda made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Matthias Holmgren sent off a good shot on target. If Paulo Pinkhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. Göksel Canfeda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Pinkhas in the 60th minute of play. 67 minutes had been played when some careless play by istanbulls's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sven-Edvin Hedberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Jörlanda's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Jörlanda's corner Jesper Larsson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Göksel Canfeda quite easily take care of the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Sven-Edvin Hedberg threw the ball into play from the sideline. istanbulls's Berkay Şahiner quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, istanbulls's Berkay Şahiner got a free kick in the 75th minute. A collision led to istanbulls getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Fatih Maradona hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Pinkhas in the 80th minute of play forced istanbulls's goalkeeper Göksel Canfeda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Östen Hedin charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Östen Hedin the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Jörlanda getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Östen Hedin hit a great ball. istanbulls's Göksel Canfeda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save istanbulls from getting a goal against them. Patrik Harlén was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 95 minutes into the match. Renaldo Segarra had in the 97thth minute some difficulties stopping Ferdi Coşan's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. istanbulls had won after a very even match.
