Futbol Club RRFV were furious when Evaristo Cruz was red carded, 5 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 4 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Futbol Club RRFV! Futbol Club RRFV:s Fernando Miguel showed great skill when he stopped Stefan Collin:s penalty. 6 minutes into the game, AIF's Stefan Collin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fernando Miguel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Guilherme Mesquita in the 9th minute of play forced AIF's goalkeeper Sven-Olof Ahlroht to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bror Skoog sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stefan Collin might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fernando Miguel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stefan Collin ran back to his position shaking his head. Gunnar Klemenssons short, quick shot in the 14thth minute got Fernando Miguel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Wilhelm Anundsson charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilhelm Anundsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 20 minutes into the match, Luís Guilherme Mesquita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sven-Olof Ahlroht. AIF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luís Guilherme Mesquita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The supporters of AIF booed when Futbol Club RRFV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Guilherme Mesquita didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Futbol Club RRFV's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnar Klemensson came free, but Fernando Miguel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes into the game, Noel Pombal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Futbol Club RRFV's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave AIF the free kick. Futbol Club RRFV's Fernando Miguel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Futbol Club RRFV from getting a goal against them. 42 minutes into the match, Futbol Club RRFV's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Collin came free, but Fernando Miguel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sven-Olof Ahlroht showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorival do Vale in the 43rd minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Stefan Collin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fernando Miguel. Futbol Club RRFV's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stefan Collin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stefan Collin to make the kick off. AIF's Wilhelm Anundsson got his second yellow card of the match in the 52nd minute. The referee ordered Wilhelm Anundsson off the ground. After a rather tough play, AIF's Wilhelm Anundsson got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Sven-Olof Ahlroht made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Dorival do Vale sent off a good shot on target. Sven-Olof Ahlroht took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diamantino Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. AIF's Sven-Olof Ahlroht played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Guilherme Mesquita in the 63rd minute of play. If Dorival do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Luís Guilherme Mesquita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sven-Olof Ahlroht. That made the score 2-2 in the 72 minute of play. A collision led to Futbol Club RRFV getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. César Brito hit a great ball. A collision led to AIF getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Fred Alegren hit a great ball. João Francisco Baptista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 87th minute Luís Guilherme Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Olof Ahlroht saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, AIF's Sven-Olof Ahlroht got control of the ball when Dorival do Vale tried to sneak it across the goal line. A nice corner shot did that João Francisco Baptista got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sven-Olof Ahlroht quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Noel Pombal hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. After 97 played minutes Futbol Club RRFV got a freekick which was hit by Noel Pombal. AIF's Bror Skoog got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. AIF succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Futbol Club RRFV had controlled the match.
