Logan McCubbin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Felix Ghee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raymond Johnston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The goalkeeper, Fergus Fairbairn, was totally fooled by Stiinta-Univ.'s Mircea Creangă, who 11 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a rather tough play, Rangers FC's Bradley Carr got a free kick in the 14th minute. Logan McCubbin hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The supporters of Rangers FC booed when Stiinta-Univ. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihai Niță didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Maxim Dragalina during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Stiinta-Univ.'s Maxim Dragalina got a free kick in the 21st minute. Raymond Johnston struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mircea Creangă to strike the kick off in the second half. Sandu Negara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rangers FC's Raymond Johnston was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 56th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Tyler McCraw's late challenge caught a Stiinta-Univ.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tyler McCraw helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th minute, Tyler McCraw hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute of the match Rangers FC got a corner. Stiinta-Univ.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tyler McCraw ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Rangers FC booed when Stiinta-Univ. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihai Niță didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felix Ghee was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Tyler McCraw. In the 68th match minute, Stiinta-Univ. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Traian Lupescu to maneuver through the defense. Felix Ghee made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Raymond Johnston sent off a good shot on target. Fergus Fairbairn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandu Negara, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Angus Howison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stevie McGilvray hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Fergus Fairbairn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mircea Creangă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manuel Aluncai's late challenge caught a Rangers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Aluncai helped the player get up and apologised. Manuel Aluncai kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. The long shot by Keith McNiter in the 82nd minute really tested Felix Ghee's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. A collision led to Rangers FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Darius Bontine hit a great ball. A hard shot by Tyler McCraw from long distance, 92 minutes into the match, got Felix Ghee's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 93 minutes into the match, Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper Felix Ghee had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raymond Johnston. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Stiinta-Univ. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rangers FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
