In the 13th minute Bengt-Arne Stabbe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fergus Fairbairn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 minutes of play, AIF's Fabian Kråk made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fergus Fairbairn was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bengt Felin was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Logan McCubbin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Logan McCubbin really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. After having played for 27 minutes, Logan McCubbin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rangers FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Logan McCubbin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 28th match minute, Rangers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keith McNiter to maneuver through the defense. Bengt-Arne Stabbe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fergus Fairbairn having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Rangers FC's Darius Bontine got a free kick in the 30th minute. Ingmar Brask's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fergus Fairbairn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Raymond Johnston was extremely unlucky when he, in the 33rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 41st minute, Keith McNiter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 47thth minute of the game Raymond Johnston who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AIF's Bengt Felin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raymond Johnston to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in AIF's zone, Logan McCubbin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bengt Felin came out of the goal and Logan McCubbin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Raymond Johnston fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bengt Felin having to interfere. Bengt Felin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raymond Johnston in the 59th minute of the match. Bengt Felin came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Rangers FC's Raymond Johnston. But to his dismay, Raymond Johnston quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Gustaf Låsberg kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 67th minute Raymond Johnston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt Felin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. John Eliasson kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After having played for 71 minutes, Raymond Johnston managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
