With an all-out effort, West Ham's Olavi Liib threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Severo Laurentzi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 25 minutes into the match, Catalin Haldan's goalkeeper Olavi Liib had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Severo Laurentzi. After a rather tough play, Catalin Haldan's Mugurel Onete got a free kick in the 26th minute. If M. Fachrul Gibran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. Olavi Liib had great luck who in the 34thth minute grab hold of the ball when Severo Laurentzi from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The supporters of West Ham booed when Catalin Haldan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cirilo Romo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hayden Baker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cirilo Romo in the 37th minute of the match. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 43rd minute, but Olavi Liib got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Catalin Haldan hanging dry this time. In the 45th minute, Živko Dabović made a precise shot to the right of Hayden Baker. West Ham's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Liviu Fințescu's late challenge caught a West Ham's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hayden Baker made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frédson Melo in the 71st minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, West Ham's goalkeeper Hayden Baker had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frédson Melo. After a defensive mix-up in Catalin Haldan's zone, Severo Laurentzi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olavi Liib came out of the goal and Severo Laurentzi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 89 minutes into the match, Severo Laurentzi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Olavi Liib. Catalin Haldan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severo Laurentzi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. West Ham's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
