The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The tension between the GLADIADORES and the Cura del Futbol players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th match minute, GLADIADORES was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeca Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. GLADIADORES made a substitution. Nestor Simões replaced Zeca Guimarães. 15 minutes into the game, one of GLADIADORES:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 18th minute there was a penalty for Cura del Futbol. Marcial Stephen stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Eurico Arantes. 1-1. Oscar Veiga in the 22ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Conrado Eron, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jimeno Millano in the 28th minute of play forced GLADIADORES's goalkeeper Eurico Arantes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Valdir Sergipano in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Conrado Eron saved Cura del Futbol from getting behind. A collision led to Cura del Futbol getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Martin Acuña hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Flavinho Brodel sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Cura del Futbol's Conrado Eron didn't even have to move. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oscar Veiga was the one to do the kick off. Conrado Eron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Veiga in the 52nd minute of the match. Conrado Eron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agnaldo Dias in the 53rd minute of play. Cura del Futbol's Conrado Eron played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agnaldo Dias in the 60th minute of play. 80 minutes into the game, GLADIADORES's Oscar Veiga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Conrado Eron made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The supporters of Cura del Futbol booed when GLADIADORES was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enio Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Melquiades Rosalio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Eurico Arantes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. GLADIADORES's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
