The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Athletic Bostero's goal looked a bit too open when Rene Rostholm came free, but Cecilio Martinez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Rene Rostholm left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Randers A.F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. After the first half Randers A.F.C. were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Nichlas Vesterdahl stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Liu Yuan's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. Rene Rostholm sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 61st minute of the game Jeremiah James made a throw-in which Leo Costa played forward. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Athletic Bostero's goalkeeper Cecilio Martinez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Cecilio Martinez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Rostholm in the 65th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rene Rostholm in the 65th minute of play forced Athletic Bostero's goalkeeper Cecilio Martinez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hüseyin Rahmi Tanpınar in the 89th minute of play forced Randers A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Nichlas Vesterdahl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Randers A.F.C.'s Grisha Mbappè sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cecilio Martinez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Athletic Bostero's zone, Grisha Mbappè stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cecilio Martinez came out of the goal and Grisha Mbappè tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Randers A.F.C. supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Randers A.F.C. would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
