If Zlatan Gigant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th match minute, Trabzon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yu Wen Chao to maneuver through the defense. Mustafa Hamit Kutlu came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by United's Modesto Peirano. With his leg Mustafa Hamit Kutlu managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when United's Zlatan Gigant fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
