After a defensive mix-up in The Blues's zone, Edmundo Espiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mira Bobo came out of the goal and Edmundo Espiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mira Bobo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Henning Fjordskov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luca Espinar hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 42nd match minute, The Blues was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thorkild Lindekær to maneuver through the defense. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valentín Carvallo made in the 45th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Sebastian Villa immediately put the ball in play. Edmundo Espiga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mira Bobo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 47th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Villa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mira Bobo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Honduras's attentive Valentín Carvallo managed to snatch the ball when Fillip Horsdam made a throw-in in the 52nd minute of the game. In the 55th minute Henning Fjordskov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Honduras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Hurdle in the 73rd minute of play. Honduras's Valentín Carvallo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Fillip Horsdam, made in the 79th minute of the game. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. After 83 minutes, Andre Gedsted mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Blues and the Honduras players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, The Blues's Andre Gedsted got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Edmundo Espiga in the 87thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mira Bobo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
