When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Guilherme Abud took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Thibault Mamardashvili to make any attempt to save it. Delfim Bastos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vambola Probach in the 10th minute of play. Delfim Bastos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Aníbal Pirani went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. 16 minutes into the game, Zé Paulo Saldanha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. JFSP's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave DENVER™ the free kick. Zé Paulo Saldanha kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in JFSP's zone, Conrado Paraibano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thibault Mamardashvili came out of the goal and Conrado Paraibano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guilherme Abud came free with the goalkeeper in the 22nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Thibault Mamardashvili could save by the left post. César Sampaio hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guilherme Abud got free with Thibault Mamardashvili in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. DENVER™'s Delfim Bastos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vambola Probach in the 31st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Vambola Probach managed to get in a good position for a shot. JFSP's supporters rose to their feet, but Vambola Probach was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delfim Bastos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 34th minute, Diguinho Vargas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd match minute, JFSP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aníbal Pirani to maneuver through the defense. If Guilherme Abud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th match minute, JFSP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Paulo Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nilmar Freitas in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thibault Mamardashvili saved JFSP from getting behind. Thibault Mamardashvili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guilherme Abud in the 63rd minute of play. When Aníbal Pirani came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the JFSP fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aníbal Pirani couldn't finish the play. DENVER™'s Caio de Mendonça was substituted for Wanderson Passos. JFSP's Ismael Neiva was substituted for Aníbal Pirani. In the 79th minute, Luís Eduardo Araújo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to DENVER™ getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Márcio Guedes hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, DENVER™'s Márcio Guedes got a free kick in the 85th minute.
