An unexpectedly hard shot by João Adolfo Hermes in the 3rd minute of play forced MARINUS MZC's goalkeeper Perivaldo Moreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. MARINUS MZC's Perivaldo Moreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jailson Batista in the 9th minute of play. A collision led to MARINUS MZC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Vítor de Senna hit a great ball. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Toninho Couto got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. MARINUS MZC's Vítor de Senna managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by João Adolfo Hermes in the 15 minute of the game. Perivaldo Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Adolfo Hermes, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 21st minute, Toninho Couto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Barcellos Mineiro FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Perivaldo Moreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Toninho Couto in the 24th minute of play. Valdo Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 29 played minutes MARINUS MZC got a freekick which was hit by Délio Souza. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Gil Coelho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Barcellos Mineiro FC from getting a goal against them. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind MARINUS MZC's goalkeeper Perivaldo Moreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Manuel Antunes kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Perivaldo Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Toninho Couto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Perivaldo Moreira came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Barcellos Mineiro FC's Orelio Picka. But to his dismay, Orelio Picka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. After the first half Barcellos Mineiro FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Toninho Couto during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. MARINUS MZC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 70th minute, when Jaime de Mendonça scored to the left of an out of position Perivaldo Moreira, making the score, 0-3. 86 minutes into the match, MARINUS MZC's goalkeeper Perivaldo Moreira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cesinha Teles.
