In the 16th minute Guilherme Abud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thibault Mamardashvili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Delfim Bastos made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Aníbal Pirani sent off a good shot on target. JFSP's Tiaguinho Melo got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Danilo Gonçalves's late challenge caught a DENVER™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cleithon Minuhin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thibault Mamardashvili having to interfere. In the 30th minute Nilmar Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thibault Mamardashvili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guilherme Abud to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of DENVER™ booed when JFSP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. César Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nilton Netto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Thibault Mamardashvili tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. JFSP's Ismael Neiva was substituted for Edgard de Godoi. When Gino Carneiro came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the DENVER™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gino Carneiro couldn't finish the play. After 63 played minutes JFSP got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Gonçalves. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guilherme Abud got free with Thibault Mamardashvili in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
