In the 7th match minute, DENVER™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Paraibano to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tod Mosley in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Delfim Bastos saved DENVER™ from getting behind. In the 23rd minute Nilmar Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Winford Taylor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Winford Taylor made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Guilherme Abud sent off a good shot on target. Guilherme Abud did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Winford Taylor 28 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute, Dwayne Clement hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute of the match, Guilherme Abud got a very nice opportunity to score, but Winford Taylor was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to DENVER™ getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Conrado Paraibano hit a great ball. Pere Ba took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Delfim Bastos. DENVER™'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 46th minute Rodrigo Velasco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Winford Taylor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guilherme Abud was the one to do the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Cleithon Minuhin came free, but Winford Taylor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Winford Taylor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guilherme Abud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Delfim Bastos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tobias Herrington, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Wanderson Passos kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, DENVER™'s Wanderson Passos got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the game, DENVER™'s Waldir Romero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Winford Taylor made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. 82 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio Guedes came free, but Winford Taylor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the New England Minas defense, Waldir Romero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Winford Taylor. The New England Minas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Winford Taylor should have stopped the shot. Waldir Romero succeeded in the game's 92nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-0. Winford Taylor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gino Carneiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute.
