The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lino Rios in the 7th minute of play. Roberto Eztebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 崔光笑 in the 10th minute of play. After some careless play in the Atlético Montserrat defense, Lino Rios kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg. The Atlético Montserrat fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg should have stopped the shot. AFC FUSION's Dawid Beckham was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience was convinced that Lino Rios's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. 26 minutes into the match, Lino Rios had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg. Atlético Montserrat's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lino Rios was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. In the 29th minute Lino Rios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Atlético Montserrat's Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Rios in the 34th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Lino Rios got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lino Rios was the one to do the kick off. Lino Rios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lino Rios's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg firmly grabbed it by the left post. Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Lino Rios sent off a good shot on target. AFC FUSION's Roberto Eztebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Michael Owen in the 77th minute of play. In the 78th minute Segundo Belarmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Eztebe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Lino Rios took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg to make any attempt to save it. AFC FUSION made a substitution. Jan Hop replaced Wojciech Fiszer. Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Christoff Stocks sent off a good shot on target. AFC FUSION were awarded a corner in the 95th minute after Atlético Montserrat's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dawid Beckham took the corner. The corner led AFC FUSION's Thiago Silva to fire away a dangerous shot which Jean-Jacques von der Schulenburg despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The AFC FUSION supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AFC FUSION would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
