The audience was convinced that Lech Biskupiak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wawrzyniec Charamut was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. De Boedo Vengo's Cipriano Aresti was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cristian Vladimirescu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Placido Jenaro got free with Cristian Vladimirescu in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45th minute, Santo Damario ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wawrzyniec Charamut was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lisandro Roderigo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
