After 17 played minutes Skövde AIK got a freekick which was hit by Chen Ao Fan. Qu Sen Yan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Viktor Pettersson came out and tried to block the shot, but Qu Sen Yan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. Jesus Luke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chen Ao Fan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th match minute, Atlético Montserrat was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Segundo Belarmo to maneuver through the defense. Jesus Luke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils-Emil Nordmark, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Viktor Pettersson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robert Boruta in the 28th minute of the match. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nils-Emil Nordmark to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Robert Boruta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Montserrat's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Boruta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54th minute Nils-Emil Nordmark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Luke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viktor Pettersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert Boruta, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Kevin Keegan took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Jesus Luke to make any attempt to save it.
