The audience was convinced that Lino Rios's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Taffarel was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Lino Rios might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dida Taffarel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lino Rios ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet as AFC FUSION's Lino Rios slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dida Taffarel. That made the score 1-0 after 12 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 15th minute of play forced AFC FUSION's goalkeeper Roberto Eztebe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dida Taffarel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lino Rios in the 17th minute. Roberto Eztebe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfredo Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Lino Rios hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, Lino Rios reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dida Taffarel. The goal made the score 2-0. With his leg Dida Taffarel managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when AFC FUSION's Lino Rios fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Roberto Eztebe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor Paraibano in the 29th minute of play. If Lino Rios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dida Taffarel made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Lino Rios sent off a good shot on target. Toby Major hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 40 minutes into the game, AFC FUSION's Lino Rios nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dida Taffarel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 43rd match minute, AFC FUSION was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonatan Maidana to maneuver through the defense. Selami Rezan's late challenge caught a AFC FUSION's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Selami Rezan helped the player get up and apologised. Selami Rezan kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. When AFC FUSION's Lino Rios in the 47th minute got a chance for a shot 47th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Marquês de Herval's goalie prevented a goal. Dida Taffarel had great luck who in the 47thth minute grab hold of the ball when Lino Rios from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alfredo Martins made a kick off. 56 minutes into the game, AFC FUSION's Lino Rios nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dida Taffarel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. 61 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Lino Rios came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, AFC FUSION's Lino Rios sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dida Taffarel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Toby Major kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st minute Lino Rios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roberto Eztebe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Cano in the 72nd minute of the match. 75 minutes into the match, Lino Rios had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dida Taffarel. Marquês de Herval's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lino Rios was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. AFC FUSION's Aureliano Karlo was substituted for Lino Rios. AFC FUSION's Jan Hop was substituted for Wojciech Fiszer. AFC FUSION's Aureliano Karlo got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 89 played minutes AFC FUSION got a freekick which was hit by Jonatan Maidana. Aureliano Karlo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dida Taffarel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. AFC FUSION were awarded a corner in the 96th minute after Marquês de Herval's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dawid Beckham took the corner. The corner ended in Dawid Beckham almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel did a great save. 97 minutes into the game, Dawid Beckham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFC FUSION's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marquês de Herval the free kick. The supporters of Marquês de Herval booed when AFC FUSION was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dawid Beckham didn't get a good kick on the ball.
