Qu Sen Yan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Óscar Cordoba made a huge save. Michael Owen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Óscar Cordoba made a huge save. Jesus Luke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Bilintx in the 21st minute of play. In the 27th minute Diego Maradona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesus Luke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Atlético Montserrat's Segundo Belarmo got a free kick in the 30th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Saturnino Curcio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting de Gijón's supporters rose to their feet, but Saturnino Curcio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jesus Luke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Sporting de Gijón from getting a goal against them. Atlético Montserrat's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Segundo Belarmo in the 34th minute. After taking down the ball on Atlético Montserrat's corner Segundo Belarmo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Óscar Cordoba quite easily take care of the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Atlético Montserrat's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Curcio came free, but Jesus Luke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 35th minute, Saturnino Curcio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sporting de Gijón fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 39 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Qu Sen Yan came free, but Óscar Cordoba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting de Gijón from getting a goal against them. Alejandro Rufo kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Óscar Cordoba came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Atlético Montserrat's Qu Sen Yan. But to his dismay, Qu Sen Yan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. 崔光笑 was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Atlético Montserrat's goalkeeper Jesus Luke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alejandro Rufo. Atlético Montserrat's Jesus Luke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Montserrat from getting a goal against them. Bernardo Calvet kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Atlético Montserrat's Jesus Luke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Montserrat from getting a goal against them. Jesus Luke was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Atlético Montserrat fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sporting de Gijón were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
