The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Areco FC's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Boumans came free, but Gabriel Urtats reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gabriel Urtats showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ted Almstedt in the 4th minute of the match. Gabriel Urtats came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Runa United's Harry Boumans. But to his dismay, Harry Boumans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anttoni Salmelainen in the 25th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Tommy Ekgren got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gabriel Urtats quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gabriel Urtats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Ekgren in the 30th minute of play. After 35 played minutes Areco FC got a freekick which was hit by Agustin Abaunza. In the 36th match minute, Areco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nói Ado to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 37 minutes, Matthias Lundin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Runa United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Matthias Lundin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anttoni Salmelainen in the 41st minute of play forced Areco FC's goalkeeper Gabriel Urtats to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Runa United's Ted Almstedt suffered a concussion in the 47th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Venancio Sendoa charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Venancio Sendoa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 47 minutes into the game, one of Areco FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
54 minutes into the match, Benja Dominguez notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Runa United's Nils-Erik Åhlberg. Nils-Erik Åhlberg was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gabriel Urtats showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Söderström, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In the last second Gabriel Urtats throw himself and got hold of the ball when Richard Söderström in the 59thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. In the 61st match minute, Runa United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Boumans to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Söderström in the 65th minute of play forced Areco FC's goalkeeper Gabriel Urtats to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gabriel Urtats took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Söderström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tommy Ekgren got free with Gabriel Urtats in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats got control of the ball when Tommy Ekgren tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 81st minute Richard Söderström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Urtats saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the game, one of Runa United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Söderström in the 90th minute of play. Areco FC's Aquiles Pirro got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gabriel Urtats made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Tommy Ekgren sent off a good shot on target. Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anttoni Salmelainen in the 94th minute of play. Nils-Erik Åhlberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustin Abaunza in the 96th minute of the match. A collision led to Areco FC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Venancio Sendoa hit a great ball.
