The tension between the Runa United and the Areco FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th minute, one of Runa United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Runa United. Nils-Erik Åhlberg went to the wrong direction when Nói Ado was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. In the 11th minute of the match, Jörgen Lundström got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gabriel Urtats was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Runa United's Nils-Erik Åhlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustin Abaunza in the 12th minute of play. In the 15th minute Zeledon Sol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils-Erik Åhlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Runa United's Nils-Erik Åhlberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustin Abaunza in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ted Almstedt in the 18th minute of play forced Areco FC's goalkeeper Gabriel Urtats to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Boumans in the 20th minute of play. Harry Boumanss short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Gabriel Urtats to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 29th match minute, Areco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgardo Domiku to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute Ted Almstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Urtats saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 35th minute of the match Matthias Lundin completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Matthias Lundin a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Matthias Lundin kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Harry Boumans could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Gabriel Urtats made a huge save. Gabriel Urtats made an important save on a dangerous shot by Harry Boumans in the 43rd minute. Florian Fittipaldi hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Agustin Abaunza succeeded in the game's 47th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Agustin Abaunza to strike the kick off in the second half. Bo Eriksson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Areco FC's Gabriel Urtats played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bo Eriksson in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Runa United's goal looked a bit too open when Agustin Abaunza came free, but Nils-Erik Åhlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Bo Eriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gabriel Urtats showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Boumans, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Nils-Erik Åhlberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustin Abaunza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the last second Nils-Erik Åhlberg throw himself and got hold of the ball when Agustin Abaunza in the 69thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. A collision led to Runa United getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ted Almstedt hit a great ball. Joel Andreasson might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gabriel Urtats. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Andreasson ran back to his position shaking his head. Bo Eriksson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gabriel Urtats read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Runa United's Aleksander Vassenius was substituted for Rafa Márquez. In the 80th match minute, Areco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Garret Spence to maneuver through the defense. Harry Boumans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Gabriel Urtats tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 86 played minutes Runa United got a freekick which was hit by Harry Boumans. If Bo Eriksson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harry Boumans in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Urtats saved Areco FC from getting behind. In the 94th minute, Areco FC's Aquiles Pirro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nils-Erik Åhlberg. Nils-Erik Åhlberg yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. 97 minutes into the match, Areco FC's Aquiles Pirro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nils-Erik Åhlberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 97th match minute, Runa United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Andreasson to maneuver through the defense. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
