Ted Almstedt made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 34thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Atilano Benat would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. 35 minutes into the match, Runa United's goal looked a bit too open when Raimundo Guimarães came free, but Nils-Erik Åhlberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Runa United's zone, Raimundo Guimarães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nils-Erik Åhlberg came out of the goal and Raimundo Guimarães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Raimundo Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bogdan Pânzaru hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The supporters of Runa United booed when Dromes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franco Murillo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Ted Almstedt came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Runa United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ted Almstedt couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raimundo Guimarães made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ted Almstedt in the 57th minute of play forced Dromes FC's goalkeeper Atilano Benat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 68 minutes Runa United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Juan Pablo Rodríguez who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Dromes FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Jack Grealish hit a great ball. Tage Deckbergh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
