After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Alessandro Clarkfeldt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Söderbröder's supporters rose to their feet, but Alessandro Clarkfeldt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Luiz Goiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Monte Valdovinos hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. The tension between the Real Madrid de Guatemala and the Söderbröder players grew even worse after the yellow card. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alessandro Clarkfeldt to make the kick off. Karl-Axel Nyman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Madrid de Guatemala. After 66 played minutes Söderbröder got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Clarkfeldt. In the 71st match minute, Söderbröder was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alessandro Clarkfeldt to maneuver through the defense. After 72nd play minutes Carmelo Sifon shot 4-1, a short shot which went by Karl-Axel Nyman and just under the crossbar into goal. Torgny Bäckström charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Karl-Axel Nyman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Santamaria in the 80th minute of play. Karl-Axel Nyman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angel Salazar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee felt a red card was in order, 93 minutes into the game, when Torgny Bäckström put in a rough tackle. In the 94th minute there was a penalty for Real Madrid de Guatemala. Cristian Santamaria stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Karl-Axel Nyman. 5-1. Real Madrid de Guatemala's Nicolás Guerrero got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Söderbröder's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
