A collision led to FC LongeR getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Wieslaw Pilipiec hit a great ball. After having played for 6 minutes, Roland Záhoran managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AFK Petržalka's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roland Záhoran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, FC LongeR's Franciszek Czerniak got a free kick in the 12th minute. Waldemar Zjawin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roland Záhoran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC LongeR's Tomasz Kluczyk got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Roland Záhoran could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Waldemar Zjawin made a huge save. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Tibor Barmoš got a free kick in the 30th minute. If Ziemowit Lewkowicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Norberd Valentík took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomasz Kluczyk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Waldemar Zjawin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Záhoran in the 34th minute of play. Waldemar Zjawin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roland Záhoran in the 36th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roland Záhoran in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Waldemar Zjawin saved FC LongeR from getting behind. After 37 played minutes FC LongeR got a freekick which was hit by Alfred Polek. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Záhoran in the 39th minute of play forced FC LongeR's goalkeeper Waldemar Zjawin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Hvižďák hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Norberd Valentík made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ziemowit Lewkowicz in the 42nd minute of play. After 44 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Roland Záhoran. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a defensive mix-up in AFK Petržalka's zone, Ziemowit Lewkowicz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norberd Valentík came out of the goal and Ziemowit Lewkowicz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. AFK Petržalka's Norberd Valentík played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zygmunt Dynda in the 57th minute of play. FC LongeR's Zachary Kajfasz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Norberd Valentík in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Dušan Glenda fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFK Petržalka's protests and gave Dušan Glenda a yellow card for diving instead. After 61 played minutes AFK Petržalka got a freekick which was hit by Dušan Glenda. Ziemowit Lewkowicz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Norberd Valentík tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Peter Hvižďák the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of AFK Petržalka protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Peter Hvižďák had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AFK Petržalka!
