Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's Ernesto Bezerra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Toninho Arruda's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernesto Bezerra was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Monumento Sports's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ the free kick. In the 87th minute, Pedrinho Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ's zone, Toninho Arruda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto Bezerra came out of the goal and Toninho Arruda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Jaraguá do Sul FSCMZ players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
