Amadeu Prado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisinho Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 7 minutes into the game, Sport Club Mavericks's Davi Rossi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Francisco Alagoano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Amadeu Prado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luisinho Nogueira in the 16th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zézinho Neto got free with Francisco Alagoano in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Palmares Futebol Clube were furious when Haroldo Lopes was red carded, 20 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 20 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Palmares Futebol Clube! Amadeu Prado came out of the goal in the 25th minute to try and stop a shot by Palmares Futebol Clube's João Vítor Sena. But to his dismay, João Vítor Sena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Amadeu Prado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Vítor Sena in the 30th minute of the match. In the 37th minute of the match Palmares Futebol Clube got a corner. Sport Club Mavericks's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luisinho Nogueira ran over to the corner to take the kick. Palmares Futebol Clube's Luisinho Nogueira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Amadeu Prado in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 41 played minutes Sport Club Mavericks got a freekick which was hit by Hílton Cruz. Zézinho Neto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Francisco Alagoano made a huge save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ismael Secco to make the kick off. Francisco Alagoano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogério Cean, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Andrézinho Alcântara received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Amadeu Prado came out and tried to block the shot, but Andrézinho Alcântara slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 56th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davi Rossi in the 65th minute of play forced Palmares Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Francisco Alagoano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luisinho Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. A collision led to Palmares Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Luisinho Nogueira hit a great ball. After 72 played minutes Palmares Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Geraldo Gonçalves. The crowd rose to their feet as João Vítor Sena kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amadeu Prado. That made the score 2-3 in the 73 minute of play. Palmares Futebol Clube's Francisco Alagoano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hílton Cruz in the 81st minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, Dário Moreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Palmares Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sport Club Mavericks the free kick. In the 83rd minute of the match Mateus Novaes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francisco Alagoano skillfully saved the ball. João Vítor Sena charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed João Vítor Sena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. João Vítor Sena hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. In the 89th match minute, Sport Club Mavericks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Téo Guimarães to maneuver through the defense.
