Jardim América FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gernando Quintal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Nicolas Matorin made in the 23rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Gernando Quintal immediately put the ball in play. After a rather tough play, Jardim América FC's Luís Guilherme Salgado got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 29th match minute, Monumento Sports was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrinho Neiva to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Jardim América FC's zone, Gernando Quintal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Perivaldo Torres came out of the goal and Gernando Quintal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedrinho Neiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Perivaldo Torres tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute Jardim América FC were awarded a corner. Wágner Urbano went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Jardim América FC booed when Monumento Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gernando Quintal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jardim América FC's attentive Walmir Araújo managed to snatch the ball when Nicolas Matorin made a throw-in in the 45th minute of the game. Moisés Antunes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kauan Monteiro in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
