Cafu Linares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AF CERRADO. When Germano Vasconcelos fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored OTTO FC - FSCMZ's protests and gave Germano Vasconcelos a yellow card for diving instead. Germano Vasconcelos hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute, Arí Motta ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cafu Linares was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, OTTO FC - FSCMZ's Geovanni Sabóia got a free kick in the 9th minute. Nestor Cordeiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cafu Linares. OTTO FC - FSCMZ's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 11th minute, Arí Motta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AF CERRADO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 18 minutes into the match, Ezequiel Melo notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of OTTO FC - FSCMZ's Cafu Linares. Cafu Linares was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 21 minutes into the game, Edgard Vasconcelos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Severino Alcântara. Edgard Vasconcelos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. Didi Gaúcho struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. The audience was convinced that Arí Motta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cafu Linares was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Cafu Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arí Motta in the 41st minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Didi Gaúcho in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cafu Linares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 45th minute, Didi Gaúcho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arí Motta was the one to do the kick off. Cafu Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezequiel Melo, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. After 53 minutes of play, OTTO FC - FSCMZ's Fernando Pirani made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severino Alcântara was left in no man's land by his defense there! Didi Gaúcho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cafu Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When OTTO FC - FSCMZ's Valdir Magalhães in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AF CERRADO's goalie prevented a goal. Artur Sergipano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur Sergipano during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 68th match minute, AF CERRADO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artur Sergipano to maneuver through the defense. Dênis Prata, 69 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After 75 minutes of play, OTTO FC - FSCMZ's Cássio Peixoto made it 3-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severino Alcântara was left in no man's land by his defense there! 79 minutes into the game, OTTO FC - FSCMZ's Edgard Vasconcelos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Severino Alcântara made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. In the 89th minute Arí Motta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cafu Linares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Didi Gaúcho came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the AF CERRADO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Didi Gaúcho couldn't finish the play. The referee gave AF CERRADO a penalty, 94 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nestor Cordeiro, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of OTTO FC - FSCMZ's Cafu Linares. 4-4. OTTO FC - FSCMZ succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though AF CERRADO had controlled the match.
