Monumento Sports's supporters rose to their feet, but Toninho Arruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leonardo Paz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Moisés Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Vítor Sena in the 12th minute of play. Monumento Sports's Toninho Arruda got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Toninho Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Palmares Futebol Clube's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luisinho Nogueira in the 25th minute. After 26 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Toninho Arruda. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedrinho Neiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mathias Seco was slow to take the kick. During this time Monumento Sports's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Mathias Seco almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Palmares Futebol Clube's Leonardo Paz did a great save. Leonardo Paz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toninho Arruda in the 91st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Palmares Futebol Clube defense, Toninho Arruda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonardo Paz. The Palmares Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonardo Paz should have stopped the shot. For all the effort they put into the match, the Palmares Futebol Clube players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Monumento Sports.
