The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 17th minute, Palmares Futebol Clube's João Vítor Sena ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edmundo Mineiro. Edmundo Mineiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Luisinho Nogueira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 4-0 in the 30th playminute. Luís Fabiano Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Irreal Madrid's Edmundo Mineiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Irreal Madrid from getting a goal against them. João Vítor Sena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundo Mineiro having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Edmundo Mineiro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

51 minutes into the match, Irreal Madrid's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Maravilha came free, but Edmundo Mineiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Aílton Magalhães fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Irreal Madrid's protests and gave Aílton Magalhães a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Jarbas Porto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edmundo Mineiro was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ismael Secco in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Edmundo Mineiro saved Irreal Madrid from getting behind. In the 75th minute, Ismael Secco made a precise shot to the right of Edmundo Mineiro. Irreal Madrid's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Irreal Madrid made a substitution. Dito Monteiro replaced Dráusio Domingues. In the 78th minute, Ismael Secco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81stth minute of the game João Vítor Sena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Irreal Madrid's Edmundo Mineiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edmundo Mineiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Túlio Maravilha in the 84th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Irreal Madrid's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Maravilha came free, but Edmundo Mineiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Augusto Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Edmundo Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Vítor Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edmundo Mineiro came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Palmares Futebol Clube's Thomás Maia. But to his dismay, Thomás Maia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. When the referee ended the match the Palmares Futebol Clube players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
