The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gernando Quintals short, quick shot in the 4thth minute got Cafu Linares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Cafu Linares managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when Monumento Sports's Gernando Quintal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Cássio Peixoto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Moisés Antunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Pedrinho Neiva kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Valdir Magalhães took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Moisés Antunes. Moisés Antunes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdir Magalhães in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Moisés Antunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 26 minutes into the game, Pedrinho Neiva recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cafu Linares. Pedrinho Neiva showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After 33 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Salles. The supporters of OTTO FC - FSCMZ booed when Monumento Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Márcio Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, OTTO FC - FSCMZ's Dênis Prata tried to score from far away in the 35th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Moisés Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Vasconcelos in the 37th minute of play. 39 minutes into the match, Monumento Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Vasconcelos came free, but Moisés Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard Vasconcelos charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edgard Vasconcelos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Moisés Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Vasconcelos in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valdir Magalhães made a kick off. Cafu Linares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedrinho Neiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. 60 minutes into the match, Monumento Sports's goalkeeper Moisés Antunes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Valdir Magalhães. In the 60th minute, Mathias Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of OTTO FC - FSCMZ booed when Monumento Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cafu Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrinho Neiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Moisés Antunes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valdir Magalhães in the 71st minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of OTTO FC - FSCMZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Monumento Sports:s goal. Cafu Linares had in the 73rdth minute some difficulties stopping Mathias Seco's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 75th minute, Valdir Magalhães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cafu Linares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernando Quintal in the 76th minute of the match. If Valdir Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, Monumento Sports could leave the field as winners, despite OTTO FC - FSCMZ having more of the ball for most of the match.
