Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Luiz Gustavo Leão kicked off to start the match. 4 minutes into the match, Gernando Quintal notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Irreal Madrid's Edmundo Mineiro. Edmundo Mineiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 9 minutes of play, Monumento Sports's Gernando Quintal made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edmundo Mineiro was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 14 minutes, Gernando Quintal made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Irreal Madrid's Edmundo Mineiro tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 18th minute Gernando Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmundo Mineiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Monumento Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Gustavo Leão came free, but Moisés Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the game, Aílton Magalhães was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Irreal Madrid's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Monumento Sports the free kick. In the 24th minute, Aílton Magalhães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute, Gernando Quintal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Edmundo Mineiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Edmundo Mineiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute, Gernando Quintal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Monumento Sports fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. 44 minutes into the game, Monumento Sports's Mathias Seco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edmundo Mineiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. After the first half Monumento Sports were leading 1-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Pedrinho Neiva made the kick off in the second half. Carlos Augusto Capixaba was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 51 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fabiano Dracena in the 56th minute of play forced Monumento Sports's goalkeeper Moisés Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 57 minutes, Benjamim Neto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Irreal Madrid and the Monumento Sports players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Irreal Madrid's Benjamim Neto got a free kick in the 57th minute. Gernando Quintal's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Edmundo Mineiro firmly grabbed it by the left post. Aílton Magalhães's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Moisés Antunes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. Wiliam Moraes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th match minute, Monumento Sports was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Luz to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Irreal Madrid's Wiliam Moraes tried to score from far away in the 71st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Wiliam Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Irreal Madrid fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wiliam Moraes couldn't finish the play. When Irreal Madrid's Luís Fabiano Dracena in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Monumento Sports's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fabiano Dracena in the 82nd minute of play forced Monumento Sports's goalkeeper Moisés Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Edmundo Mineiro managed to avoid a goal in the 84thth minute, when Monumento Sports's Gernando Quintal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Moisés Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fabiano Dracena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 89 played minutes Irreal Madrid got a freekick which was hit by Benjamim Neto. Irreal Madrid made a substitution. Dito Monteiro replaced Dráusio Domingues. In the 90th match minute, Irreal Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamim Neto to maneuver through the defense. Gernando Quintal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Edmundo Mineiro made a huge save. Monumento Sports's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
