Gernando Quintal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Severino Alcântara read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. Moisés Antunes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Didi Gaúcho went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 13 minutes into the match, Monumento Sports's goal looked a bit too open when Didi Gaúcho came free, but Moisés Antunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute of the match AF CERRADO got a corner. Monumento Sports's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nestor Cordeiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led AF CERRADO's Nestor Cordeiro to fire away a dangerous shot which Moisés Antunes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 15th minute, Wiliam Rosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Ezequiel Melo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Moisés Antunes. Monumento Sports's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ezequiel Melo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Moisés Antunes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ezequiel Melo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When AF CERRADO's Ezequiel Melo in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. AF CERRADO were awarded a corner in the 28th minute after Monumento Sports's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nestor Cordeiro took the corner. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diego Ramos during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of AF CERRADO booed when Monumento Sports was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Monumento Sports's Moisés Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arí Motta in the 32nd minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 52 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Pedrinho Neiva. After 54 played minutes Monumento Sports got a freekick which was hit by Mathias Seco. Moisés Antunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Melo in the 58th minute of play. Ezequiel Melo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Didi Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Moisés Antunes having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Gernando Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monumento Sports's supporters rose to their feet, but Gernando Quintal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Severino Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gernando Quintal scored 2-3 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Severino Alcântara, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Monumento Sports's Moisés Antunes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Monumento Sports from getting a goal against them. In the 86th minute, Pedrinho Neiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pedrinho Neiva was shown his second yellow card after 87 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Monumento Sports getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Pedrinho Neiva hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 91 minutes, Moisés Antunes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Didi Gaúcho took a quick shot and it went in 2-4 without a chance for Moisés Antunes to make any attempt to save it. AF CERRADO's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
