Through an outstanding action, after 8 minutes, Stanford Peters successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tracy Brunson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Clóvis Reis having to make a save. Leon Sport Club's Clóvis Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tracy Brunson in the 11th minute of play. The supporters of Kentucky Mustangs booed when Leon Sport Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oswaldo Talavera didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Leon Sport Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jack Agnes made a kick off. Leon Sport Club's defense didn't have a chance, in the 51st minute, when Tracy Brunson scored to the left of an out of position Clóvis Reis, making the score, 1-1. 58 minutes into the match, Marcel Ramos had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stanford Peters. Kentucky Mustangs's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marcel Ramos was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Tracy Brunson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 61stth minute, Clóvis Reis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 66 minutes into the match, Kentucky Mustangs's goal looked a bit too open when Valdo Prado came free, but Stanford Peters reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clóvis Reis made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Gao Lang Feng sent off a good shot on target. Leon Sport Club's João Augusto Costa was substituted for Giovanni Massa. Kentucky Mustangs were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Leon Sport Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. M. Ramdhan Rombot took the corner. After a defensive mix-up in Kentucky Mustangs's zone, Wesley Sønck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stanford Peters came out of the goal and Wesley Sønck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th minute, Raymundo Hasche hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Clóvis Reis made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Jack Agnes sent off a good shot on target. In the 87th minute of the match Kentucky Mustangs got a corner. Leon Sport Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. M. Ramdhan Rombot ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a little luck, Leon Sport Club's Clóvis Reis got control of the ball when Jack Agnes tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Jack Agnes came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Kentucky Mustangs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jack Agnes couldn't finish the play. When the referee ended the match the Leon Sport Club players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
