Leon Sport Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonas Herz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 17 minutes into the game, Cornel Chira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Leon Sport Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zelg FC the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Leon Sport Club fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 17th minute. Penalty! Leon Sport Club:s Clóvis Reis showed great skill when he stopped Gilles Clerc:s penalty. Clóvis Reis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilles Clerc went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Zelg FC's Sepp Mainville proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Zelg FC from getting a goal against them. In the 23rd minute of the match Leon Sport Club got a corner. Zelg FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cornel Chira ran over to the corner to take the kick. Clóvis Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilles Clerc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Giovanni Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, Leon Sport Club's Sepp Mainville threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jon Loarte, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jon Loarte scored 2-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sepp Mainville, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 36thth minute of the game Jonas Herz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leon Sport Club's Clóvis Reis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonas Herz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Reis having to interfere. Jonas Herz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the game, Kléberson Loureiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giovanni Massa in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sepp Mainville prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 57th minute, Irwin Monney made a precise shot to the right of Clóvis Reis. Leon Sport Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Jonas Herz might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Clóvis Reis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jonas Herz ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonas Herz in the 61st minute of play forced Leon Sport Club's goalkeeper Clóvis Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute, Jonas Herz made a precise shot to the right of Clóvis Reis. Leon Sport Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. With his leg Clóvis Reis managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when Zelg FC's Jonas Herz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Zelg FC's goalkeeper Sepp Mainville, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Zelg FC's Sepp Mainville played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovanni Massa in the 89th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Zelg FC's Jonas Herz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clóvis Reis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Zelg FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
